2007 Individual Photographer's Fellowship

The Aaron Siskind Foundation is offering a limited number of fellowship grants of up to $5,000 each for individual artists working in still photography and photography-based media.Grant recipients and award amounts will be determined by a review panel on the basis of accomplishment to date, and the promise of future achievement in the medium in its widest sense.
There are no restrictions on the subject matter or processes of past or projected work.

The Aftermath Project

The Aftermath Project holds a yearly grant competition open to working photographers worldwide covering the aftermath of conflict. In addition, through partnerships with universities, photography institutions and non-profit organizations, the Project seeks to help broaden the public’s understanding of the true cost of war— and the real price of peace — through international traveling exhibitions and educational outreach in communities and schools. An annual publication co-published with Aperture and Mets & Schilt is distributed world wide.

82nd Annual International Competition: Photography

Competition is open to all artists. All forms and variations of photography are acceptable including digital art, mixed media and books. The size of the work may not exceed 60" in height or width. Work submitted must have been completed in 2006-2007 and cannot have been exhibited within 50 miles of Philadelphia. Work shown in prior exhibitions at The Print Center will not be accepted.

Twelve photographers will be chosen to display their eight-image portfolio in The Center for Fine Art Photography’s gallery for this special exhibition. The Portfolio Exhibition will be January 4 – 19, 2008. The opening and public reception is Friday, January 4, during the Fort Collins Gallery Walk. The exhibition will also appear on the Center’s online gallery for the next two years.

Hun Art Foundation Award: Among winners, 1 selected artist of Hun Gallery International 2008 will receive an opportunity to have a Solo Exhibition at Hun Gallery. Best Show Award: Among winners, 5 selected artists will receive an opportunity to participate in Group Exhibition at Space D9 in 2008. Winners will be represented and promoted by Hun Gallery Artists File for 1 year. Selected artists among winners will be featured in Hun Gallery Art Bank and will be sponsored by Hun Gallery for 6 months.

5th Annual Visual Art Exhibit
Embracing Our Differences

Artists, photographers, professionals, amateurs, teachers and students are invited to participate in the 5th annual visual art exhibit celebrating diversity. National and international submissions are encouraged. The Embracing Our Differences exhibit will be displayed throughout the month of April 2008 at Island Park along Sarasota’s beautiful bayfront. The exhibit will also be displayed throughout the month of May 2008 in North Port, Florida. Since 2004, the exhibit has been viewed by more than 400,000 visitors. The exhibit will contain 39 billboard-sized (16 feet wide by 12 1/2 feet high) images of the selected artworks. The art-work will also be evaluated on how effectively it will read outdoors when enlarged to billboard size - 16 feet wide by 12 1/2 feet high. Final selections will be made by a 3-judge panel of professional artists, curators and art professionals. A total of $2,500.00 in awards will be presented.
